13. Why does EAS provide ISO 27001:2013 training and ISO 27001:2022 training?
  • The ISO/IEC 27001 standard was revised on 25 October 2022 to the latest version known as ISO/IEC 27001:2022. Whereas, the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 version of the standard will continue to be valid until 25 October 2025 (which is known as transition period). From 25 October 2025 onwards, only ISO/IEC 27001:2022 will prevail as a valid standard and ISO 27001:2013 will become obsolete.
  • Since the existing implementation requires Auditors, the requirement for the 2013 version continues to exist. The latest ISO 27001:2022 version is also provided for those who intend to learn and qualify well in advance.
14. Should I take ISO 27001:2013 training or ISO 27001:2022 training?
  • If you are currently working for a company that is certified to the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 version, then we would recommend taking ISO/IEC 27001:2013 training. However, if you are starting a new project, seeking new job opportunities in the field of information security, or planning to certify your organization to the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 version, then we would recommend taking the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 version of the training. It is important to note that the latest version of the standard was released on 25 October 2022, so it is still in the beginning phases of adoption by companies.
15. Should I undergo the same training again in the latest version, whenever the standard version changes?
  • You can undergo transition training for the latest version or undertake a full course at a discounted rate to refresh your auditing skills.
